Operating Within the Law on Every Load

IVP Services Ltd is a UK-registered company. We operate in accordance with the legislation governing the collection, purchase, handling and resale of waste and metals in the UK.

Waste duty of care

We follow the waste duty of care under section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Waste is described accurately, transferred only to authorised persons and covered by a waste transfer note.

No cash payments

UK law prohibits dealers from paying cash for metal. We pay for all purchases by BACS to verified seller accounts only. No partial cash. No third-party accounts. No exceptions.

Identity verification

Government-issued photo ID and proof of address for private sellers; company name, Companies House number and ID for the authorised individual for businesses. Recorded on every transaction.

Anti-money laundering

Customer due diligence on all sellers before the first purchase, enhanced for high-value transactions. Suspicious transactions are reported under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.

Transaction records

A full written record of each purchase — seller, ID reference, date, material description, weight, unit price, total and bank details. Retained for a minimum of three years.

Provenance

Sellers confirm in writing that they are the legal owner of the material or are authorised to sell it. We monitor industry alerts and decline material where we have reasonable grounds for suspicion.

Environmental compliance

We apply the waste hierarchy required by the Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011. Waste transfer notes are issued where required and records of all waste transfers are retained.

Data protection (UK GDPR)

Personal data is collected for the purpose of conducting and recording transactions. It is retained for the minimum statutory period and is not shared except where required by law.

‘IVP Services Ltd does not pay cash for metal. All purchases are paid by BACS bank transfer only. This is a legal requirement. Identity verification is required before any purchase is completed.’
